Abstract The "Five Histories" contain rich and vivid ideological and political elements. Integrating "Five Histories" education into ideological and political courses in universities is of great benefit to improving the quality of ideological and political teaching, guiding college students to establish a correct historical perspective, and better implementing the "Five Histories" education tasks undertaken by universities. Based on the actual situation of universities, the integration of "Five Histories" education into ideological and political courses can focus on several aspects such as the reconstruction of theoretical teaching content, improvement of practical teaching models, and the construction of smart teaching platforms. At the same time, universities should take corresponding measures to ensure the integration of "Five Histories" education into ideological and political courses in universities.
