Abstract Western economic liberalism analyzes the human nature and asserts that the driving force for "economic man" to engage in economic activities is the pursuit of self-interest. The initiative and enthusiasm of individual in economic activities stem from their desire to pursue their own interests. In contrast, Marx and Engels pointed out the social attributes of human beings. A "social person", in addition to the natural and essential needs for interests, has a more significant requirement for social interests. The motivation for a "social person" engaging in economic activities should not focus solely on their own gain, but it should prioritize the interests of the country and society. The economic activities with Marxist ethics and morality are deemed as scientific and beneficial for all mankind, and will further promote the progress of human society.
