Abstract With the continuous progress and popularization of Internet technology, social values and individuals' mindsets are becoming more and more complicated. The cyberspace has gradually become the main field of college students' network ideological and political education. In order to carry out network ideological and political work in colleges and universities in the new era, we should make clear the premise of work, understand the connotation, make efforts to find a new way to carry out network ideological and political education, find a method suitable for the youths in new era and be aware of the internal contradiction. In order to improve the ability of network ideological and political education, counselors must acknowledge its significance, have high awareness of its dominant position and strive to improve the implementation effect of counselors' network ideological and political education.
