Abstract Scientific research is an important way for private colleges and universities to strengthen discipline and professional construction, improve the quality of education and teaching, and cultivate innovative talents. At the same time, the transformation of scientific research achievements in private colleges and universities can promote the development of local economy. In recent years, the scale of private colleges and universities has been continuously expanding, and the number of students recruited has also been increasing rapidly. The education field is undergoing a "reshuffle". The level of scientific research in private colleges and universities plays a crucial role in their recruitment and future development. Currently, there are still many problems in the scientific research work of private colleges and universities that need to be solved urgently. Based on the analysis of the existing problems in the scientific research work of private colleges and universities, specific solutions are proposed.
