The concept of tutorial system is originated in the UK and has become a crucial chain in the process of cultivation of talents over several stages of development. In recent years, multiple universities in China have started the practice of tutorial system for undergraduates in order to better adjust to the cultivation mode of applied talents in the new era. Compared with western countries, tutorial system for undergraduates is still in its exploration stage. Through the analysis of development of tutorial system for undergraduates in China and the problems that have occurred during the process of its application, it will be possible to come to suggestions for the effective practice of the system and contribute to the quality of cultivation of applied talents.
