Abstract
Subject migration is a kind of translation method to change the position of the subject in the original text to another position in the target text under the consideration of different dialogue structures between Chinese and English. This paper collects and analyzes the subtitle translation examples of subject migration from the Big Bang Theory, one of the famous American sitcoms, and generates three modes that embody the translation characteristics of different sentence patterns separately including subject appearance, subject disappearance, and subject transference.
