Abstract
The quality of published teaching materials concerns the level of a country’s education. There is a long way to construct teaching materials based on the New Humanities for English majors of application-oriented institutions. Aiming at docking standard and making innovation, this paper analyzes the background and problems in vocational textbook construction, and offers a theoretical model of reconstructing teaching material system for English major of application-oriented private undergraduate universities. The model not only considers the factors of being scientific, ideological, professional, but also puts forward some suggestions on the form reform of the teaching materials.
