Abstract Xi Jinping' cultural thought is the cultural chapter of his thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in a New Era. It constructs the theoretical subject of upholding archetype and innovation in the ontological dimension, gives the development trajectory of keeping pace with the times in the epistemological dimension, defines the systematic and comprehensive practical approach in the methodological dimension and realizes the goal of connecting China with foreign countries, thus it is the major theoretical innovation of cultural construction in the new era. It is of great significance for the construction of socialist culture on the new journey to maintain the unity of the four dimensions of "Archetype" and "Innovation", "Tradition" and "Modernity", "Substance" and "Function", "Sinic" and "Cosmopolitan" of Xi Jinping' cultural thought from the following four dimensions: theoretical ontology, cognitive development, practical methods, and value orientation.
