Abstract Fe3O4 particles, which were reduced by hydrazine hydrate with narrow size distribution, as the magnetic carriers, monodisperse and superparamagnetic polystyrene magnetic microspheres were prepared by dispersion polymerization. The morphology, structure and superparamagnetic properties of the microspheres were characterized. The results showed that magic polymer microspheres have good superparamagnetic and smooth surface. This method was suitable for the preparation of monodisperse particles with diameter about 1 μm. The magnetic polymer microspheres were capable of efficient magnetic targeting.
