| Preparation of Silver Nanoparticle Fluorescence Probe with Polymer Protection and its Detection of Salicylic Aldehyde |

Abstract Salicylic aldehyde is irritating for the respiratory tract， when inhaled it can cause cough， chest
tightness and other symptoms．We designed a fluorescent probe －-silver nanoclusters protected by polyethylene
amines ( AgNCs@ PEI) ．Basing on the formation of the Schiff base between salicylic aldehyde and AgNCs@
PEI，it can quench the fluorescence probe to achieve the detection of salicylic aldehyde． This fluorescence
probe has good selectivity toward salicylic aldehyde and a good linear relationship between 100 and 500 μM
( R2 = 0．991 8) ．A detection limit of salicylic aldehyde is 0．32 μM by this probe．
