Abstract The teaching effects of material-related courses is not satisfactory for its abstractness and complexity. While the rapid development and popularization of smart phones provided convenience for education and learning because of many advantages. Considering the functions of smart phone and the Apps, this paper discussed the teaching mode based on application of smart phones in material-related professional courses and puts forward some suggestions which are supposed to improve the teaching quality application-oriented university.
