Abstract: This paper analyzes the meaning negotiation and conceptual integration in the interpreting process, and the conceptual integration is recognized as a cognitive process in setting up a cognitive operation scene, which is a cognitive ability of speech. Construal has the characteristic of subjectivity of the construal person, who can construe a certain scene with different construal ways, which will be directly reflected in his or her verbal expression. The interpreter’s understanding is based on the explaining process of the construal of a scene. Thus, conceptualization and construal are the backstage cognition of language comprehension in interpretation.
