Abstract Object: To explore the alien effect of Chinese college students in facial recognition in Southeast
Asia.Methods: A Study on the recognition ability of Chinese college students towards neutral faces in China and
Southeast Asia by“Learning-Recognition”Paradigm.Results: The accuracy and discrimination index ( d’) of
facial recognition in Southeast Asia are significantly higher than those in China ( t = 4.163***,t = 3.338**) .
In addition,the response time of facial recognition in Southeast Asia is significantly lower than that in China
( t = -2.536* ) .However,there is no significant difference in facial recognition criteria( β) between China and
Southeast Asia.Conclusion: Chinese college students have an alien advantage in Southeast Asian facial recognition.
