Abstract Fluorescence was used to detect mercury (II) ions (Hg2+). The feasibility of this method was discussed and the effect of tungsten disulfide (WS2) concentration on the experiment was studied. Different concentrations of Hg2+ ions were detected, followed by their selectivity, and whether other metal ions interfered with the detection of Hg2+ ions. The experimental results show that this method has the advantages of simple operation, low cost and good selectivity.
