Abstract Based on the teaching features and regularities of Chinese college PE， and the reform experiences
from oversea institutions of higher learning institutions under lifetime PE notion， we come to know from the
latest years of consistent exploration and practice that the college physical education in the new era should not
pursue the enhancement of body building，the teaching of sport knowledge and skills，but return to the nature of
cultivating people．Through the construction and implementation of skill teaching，competence development and
personality nurture，the new teaching mode of the student tutorial system is expected to promote students’body
building and their physiological， psychological and personality well-being comprehensively in the process of
“systematic education”．
