Investment in poverty alleviation has promoted the economic development of poor areas such as Hebei and Shaanxi, and played a significant role in driving agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery products and services, food and tobacco industries. Poverty alleviation investment increases the carbon emission intensity in Beijing and Tianjin, and in poorer areas such as Hunan and Jiangxi; in agriculture, forestry, fishery products and services, transportation equipment, and the production and supply of electricity and heat are always the main sources of carbon emission.
