We have made a comprehensive and systematic analysis on the engineering applied talents training in local engineering colleges, by using the modern strategic management analysis methods, on the basis of grasping the advantages, overcoming the disadvantages, seizing the opportunities and avoiding the threats. Firstly, PEST analysis is used to analyze the external environment and opportunities, then Porter's five forces analysis is applied to analyze the external threats, finally, the results of the above analysis process are incorporated into the SWOT analysis, analyzing the developing strategies of Engineering application-oriented talents training in-depth and putting forward countermeasures, in order to effectively improve the quality of personnel training.
