This paper unites the principles of quality engineering education with the particular learning needs of today’s college students, from the perspective of reforms in practical education and undergraduate training. We explored the application of virtual and simulative teaching technology to specialized subjects within the field of environmental engineering, including the use of practical educational systems and other teaching resources. We found that this approach promoted students’ ability to acquire professional knowledge, solve real-world problems, innovate, and adapt to social situations, thus improving the effectiveness of practical education.
