The process is expounded of carrying out key literacy-Media literacy in teaching the course of Selected Readings of English Newspapers and Magazines. Developing media literacy is a teaching mode of the course, whose goal is to cultivate students to develop an exploring study method. Based on the characteristics of the course, with the timeliness of news as a foundation, the necessity and measures are forwarded for optimizing teaching contents. In teaching mode and means, teacher and student negotiation teaching mode is adopted, the obvious and hidden teaching are combined, and skill practice is performed. The process of this reform is reflected against what has been done, thus leading to the orientation of the course further reform. Based on media literacy to direct teaching and study, it is conductive to having high efficiency in teaching, to establishing systematic thinking system for students for reading English newspapers and magazines, and to evaluating them for students in a right way.
