Based on the characteristics of the development of the "Major Chemicals" discipline of Jilin Institute of Chemical Technology, this paper focuses on cultivating the practical ability of students in safety engineering, sums up the problems in teaching, and conducts the teaching of the course from three aspects: teaching content optimization, modern teaching methods and assessment methods. Exploring and practicing, let students do what they learn and use to promote learning. After the actual exploration and practice of the course, students have a detailed understanding of the industry drawing standards, and the CAD drawing skills have been greatly improved.
