Analysis of Leaders' Speeches and Their C-E Translation Through Transitivity Approach：Based on the Special Address by Premier Li Keqiang at the Ninth Annual Meeting of the New Champions
Abstract: On September 10th, 2015, Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, delivered a special address at the Ninth Annual Meeting of the New Champions. This paper under the transitivity approach discusses the distribution of all the processes in that discourse and analyzes the discourse characteristics of leaders’ speeches and their C-E translation. In a result, we can see that transitivity approach is suitable of analysis on leaders’ speeches; in the meantime, it boosts to grasp the language characteristics of the discourse and discourse model, helps to understand the purpose of the leaders and facilitates the smooth progress of cross-cultural communication as well.
