Abstract: Since the attacks on September 11, 2001, the Central Intelligence Agency ( CIA ) and the
Department of Defense ( DoD) have targeted numerous leaders of al-Qaida ( AQ ) and the Taliban via
unmanned aerial vehicles ( UAVs) ,commonly referred to as“drones”.UAVs are largely used to war on terror,
whose legality has been controversial in the world. UAVs are unique weapon systems, which have raised
efficiency of anti-terrorist operation and reduced death toll of the US troops. But collateral effects include
civilian deaths from the strikes on the intended targets. This paper will argue that how the United States
currently strictly adherence to the International Human Rights Law, International Humanitarian Law and other
relevant International Laws.
